(Meanwhile, two weeks later…)
So, um, yeah…about that “reach 25,000 words before the end of NaNoWriMo” vow I made a few weeks ago? Not surprisingly, it didn’t happen. I got to 20,000 by Thanksgiving, and then kinda fizzled out afterwards. I really need to stop doing that. Luckily, I still have enough “story” from those 20,000 words that I may be able to spin it into an actual story, provided I spend enough time on it between college and work next year.
In gaming-related news, I picked up The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for my PC because why the hell not? Would have tried to pick it up on my PS3, but my HDD is this close to capacity, so I can’t really put any more large games on it. I want to try to play a light-armored and sneaky thief character, but I just know I’ll end up butchering my way through the game like I would if I had stuck with Oblivion or Demon’s Souls for long.
I also managed to score myself a copy of Hyperdimension Neptunia (that PS3 game where all the main characters represent video game consoles and companies) from GameStop. NIS America was advertising a sale, so I was able to get the game for half its original price. It certainly would make good liveblog/Let’s Play fodder due to all of the game references and in-jokes (kinda like 3D Dot Game Heroes), so I may consider it after I’ve played it a bit and gotten used to the controls and stuff.
