Room with a view

My dad and I finally went and dismantled the old bunk bed I used to sleep on. Since I’m the only one using the bedroom on a regular basis, it only makes sense to have one bed. After shifting a few things around, I suddenly have a lot more room to move around now. My Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active 2 exercises won’t end with me jumping and bumping around the room into furniture, and I can actually use the full range of motion on my Kinect instead of being sandwiched between the two beds.

There’s still a lot of work for me to do before I can truly turn it into “my pad”, though:

  1. Get a rug for that part of the room to make it look more inviting.
  2. Paint over the cracks in the walls.
  3. Either get a frame that actually fits my bed, or get a larger mattress.
  4. (Optional) Get another containers for storing my anime DVDs and other collectibles

Once I get the money from my tax refund, I should be able to start my latest “renovation” project in earnest.

Garage banned

After years of struggling to get the garage door open without it collapsing on us, we’re finally going to get the damn thing replaced tomorrow. It couldn’t have happened at a better time – a few of the wheels are now falling off, and I don’t know how long the railing will hold with the rusty wire that’s currently supporting it.

The next step after the installation is to organize and get rid of all of the crap that’s stored in there. I wish things were the same way as one of my old houses, where there was a door in the basement that we could use whenever we needed to access the garage without actually opening the garage door.
