The overworld theme from Shining Force II is one of my favorite pieces of Sega Genesis music outside of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I haven’t done much work in FamiTracker in a couple of months, so I thought I’d try to replicate this in 8-bit form. For an NES-style mix, I think it’s quite good. You really have to use an alternate sound chip (VRC6, or MMC5 – that’s the one I used) for the best effect.
Inspiration: The original Genesis tune, and the arranged version from the Symphonic Suite soundtrack.
