Analogue: A Hate Story Achievement Guide

On Thursday, the visual novel Analogue: A Hate Story got a patch that added a pair of costumes for *Hyun-ae, and also fixed the Steam Achievements so that they actually work. There’s still a bit of weirdness involved, as the achievements don’t trigger unless you go to the main menu first, and then move to another screen.

It took me several of hours to do, but I got all 14 of the achievements that night (I had played the game a few days earlier and fulfilled some of the achievement conditions, but didn’t actually get credit for them until Thursday’s patch) and then went on to write a guide on how to earn each of these achievements. The game isn’t very long – it only takes about two hours to finish a path, assuming you actually sit and read all of the text – so obtaining all of the achievements is pretty easy to do, since you get them as you progress through the story.

This is the first of my achievement guides, but it’s not the only one where I’ve obtained 100% of the available achievements for it. I’ll need to check out my backlog to figure out which ones, and once I remember how I got them, I’ll add them here (and on other websites). Contributions and corrections are always appreciated, so if you find a mistake or want to add something, hit me up either in the relevant comment thread or on Facebook or Twitter.

I updated my Backloggery for the first time in what feels like six months, and I just found out that I now have over 1000 unbeaten games. That number’s never going to get anywhere close to zero since I tend to think of myself more as a collector of games than one who strives to beat everything in his collection. I just don’t have time for that. At least now, my collection is fully updated and complete.
