My tax refund dollars at work:

Putting together a piece of furniture on my own is probably the second-best “good feeling” I’ve had so far in 2012. Okay, so I bought it from IKEA, so it shouldn’t “technically” count, but replacing the rickety old computer/TV stand in the corner of my room with an actual desk is something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time. It took about three hours to put together, but I managed to finish it without injuring myself or losing any pieces.

Two more items on my list that are long overdue: painting the room and replacing my beat-up clothes drawer. I never got around to actually painting the ceiling, and the stuff that we did attempt to paint is showing its age. Luckily, I only have three days of class next week, so I’m going to use the two open ones to go out and get some paint. Dad wants to take care of that before we put together my new bed frame. If I’m lucky, I could have all of this done before spring break next week.
