Good morning, happy and unhappy campers! Figured I’d actually get 2012 off to a rolling start by knocking some items off my ‘to-do” list from a while back.

I went and rented Outlaw Star from Netflix. It used to air on the Cartoon Network in the early 2000s when the channel still had anime on. I never got to finish it, or see much of the beginning (the only ones I’ve seen on CN all the way through are Death Note and the first season of Code Geass), so I don’t remember much of what happened. Obviously, the DVD version doesn’t have as many edits done to it as the one broadcast on CN – quite a bit of blood and cursing – so it’s not something for kids.

After I did that, I cracked open A Game of Thrones. I did it because I hear George R.R. Martin’s going to release the sixth book in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, and I want to be at least done with this book so that I’m not left any further behind. The copy I have has more than 500 pages to it, so I’m gonna need to read this little by little if I ever expect to get it done.
